Viola Davis Makes History by Winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series

How to Get Away With Murder's leading woman Viola Davis made history yesterday when she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

She is the first black actress who has won the award in this particular category.

  1. OK. I was a weekly viewer pre-recording every show for this season...along with at least 2 dozen friends and family members but no more...we all canceled our recorded episodes.
    Why in the world did "women of color" have to be included in Viola's speech at the Emmys? All women should have an opportunity...not just women of color. She is talented and didn't need to go there. So with that and the sexual display with the other woman on the first show...we are all done.
