ABC's upfronts took place on May 12, 2015. Apart from announcing their renewed and canceled shows, they also presented their schedule for Fall 2015.
"
How to Get Away With Murder" is slated to premiere its second season in
September. The exact air date still has to be decided. The second season will encompass
15 episodes (just like the first season). The show remains in its timeslot, on
Thursdays, @ 10/9c, still being part of the
#TGIT line-up (consisting of "Grey's Anatomy", "Scandal", and the show itself).
All series stars that have starred as series regulars during the first season are set to reprise their roles. Only
Katie Findlay aka Rebecca Sutter will not return, for obvious reasons.
Read the official
season press release below (only if you have already watched the season 1 finale!):
They say the first year of law school is the hardest. After taking Professor Annalise Keating’s (Viola Davis) class at Middleton University in “How to Get Away with Murder,” the Keating 5 were pushed to their limits as their values, convictions, dreams and even truths about themselves were revealed to be as dark as the law and justice system they’re trying to learn. Following the aftermath of the murder mystery cover up that Wes Gibbins, Connor Walsh, Michaela Pratt and Laurel Castillo were involved in, they each fear the worst when Rebecca Sutter escapes from under their watch. Unbeknownst to them, she is found dead by Annalise and her trusted associate Frank Delfino, creating an entirely new murder and undoubtedly, a new web of lies and suspects.
